課程概述
(i) propagation of optical rays and beams

(iii) electro-optic modulation of laser beams
1. anisotropy
2. pockels effect
3. kerr effect
4. magneto-optic effect
5. acousto-optic effect
(iv) noise in optical detection and generation
1. spectral density function
2. shot noise and johnson noise
3. spontaneous emission noise in laser oscillators

課程目標
本課程是光電領域的入門課,將以深入淺出的方式,探討光電領域的一些基本原理,尤其是對雷射的產生、傳輸、調變、偵測等概念之介紹。

課程要求
預修課程: 微分方程,近代物理,電磁學
