Each morning began with foundational C programming, then progressed through ESP32 development board operations and core circuit concepts. Campers built and programmed their own keyboards and display screens, learned communication protocols and audio transmission, and explored game software design. By the end of the program, every participant took home a fully functional multiplayer game console. Although the depth was introductory, the broad scope aimed to spark enduring interest in electrical engineering.
Beyond the classroom, campers toured university research labs and visited partner companies. Faculty lectures and peer-alumni panels provided insights into academic pathways and career prospects. Professor Hung-Yi Lee led a session on the principles and applications of generative AI, exposing students to cutting-edge trends, while Professor Bing-Cheng Yeh shared his decades of teaching experience, revealing the department’s hidden talents. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all professors who contributed talks and lab introductions, enriching the campers’ experience.
Throughout the six days, icebreaker games and collaborative challenges brought participants together. A custom game called “Battle of Course Selection” simulated university registration strategies and the pressures of competition. An overarching mystery game required teams to earn coins and clues through cooperative mini-games, culminating in a final group puzzle that tested their collective problem-solving skills.
Each night featured memorable festivities. The welcome party kicked off with a pun-filled skit that had everyone laughing. A running-campus drama left campers speculating about its heroine’s affections. At the campfire, students enjoyed barbecue and karaoke, thrilling fire-staff and light-stick performances, and a surprise fireworks display under the summer sky—moments that forged lasting memories.
The farewell show showcased the camp counselors themselves: seeing these near-peers perform inspired campers’ admiration for NTU EE. The climax came with the department’s legendary light-dance: hundreds of glow sticks swaying to student-led live accompaniment. Finally, a heartfelt lantern-light sing-along—nearly 200 voices under a sea of phone-torch “stars” and fluttering streamers—brought the six-day journey to a poignant close. We hope every camper carries these vibrant memories and newfound courage into a future as brilliant as those dancing streamers.
